Henrique Capriles Radonski, the candidate for the opposition Unified Democratic Panel (MUD) blasted the “disproportion” from the institutional point of view noted on Monday during the enrollment of Venezuela’s President Hugo Chávez.
“If we are to compare two registration processes, let us see the one of yesterday (Sunday) and that of today (Monday). I make reference to the events inside the CNE (National Electoral Council). We can see there the reality of having all the odds stacked on their behalf; the disproportion from the institutional viewpoint,” he commented.
In an interview aired by private TV news channel Globovisión, Capriles Radonski claimed to trust in the people’s will. “People are the ones who elect. I trust poll workers, witnesses, all those who safeguard voting.”
He underscored that the model intended by the government will not help country progress.
Instead, he proposed a national production model with the State being able to give assurances to businesspersons and grant legal security for investments. Original Article.
